UCD student reports from Second Life

UCD Library has been in Second Life (SL) for over a year now. Readers of this blog have followed our progress from our first day through to the many recent events we have held in our Second Life branch. Through this experience we have learnt a great deal about our library staff's experience in SL, guest speakers' experience and academic staff's experience. One key perspective was missing - that of UCD students. For sure we have the results of our SL surveys but we didn't have a first hand account of how students find the second life experiece. Step forward Demelza Trefoil (pictured above). Through her blog Demelza has been recounting her experiences of everything in SL from lectures to St Patrick's Day parades. This insightful and funny blog is worth checking out and raises some interesting questions about the future use of virtual worlds in higher education and research. Thanks Demelza!
